Abstracts

I create mixed media and textile abstracts with materials that include vintage kimono silk, art papers, paint, tulle, cotton, yarn, ribbon and wool roving. Hand and machine stitching, painting and block printing are among the techniques used in these works. My improvisational and playful process results in multi-layered and multi-textured pieces that incorporate vivid color, dimension and surface embellishment.

Each textile piece is raw edged and floated on a white mat.
